Hi, I'm Melissa! I am a Holistic Health Coach with over a decade of experience, based in Upstate New York. I am a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition with a love of learning and a passion for health. Having most recently earned Certification in Hormone Health. I work with clients remotely and in person.
 

About Me

I am a mother of four and after a successful spinal fusion, I know first-hand the importance of eating a low-inflammatory diet and nutrient-dense foods! I remain active with my two dogs by walking, doing yoga, gardening, and most recently developing a love for tennis.
 
I have personally experienced the challenges of changing a family’s eating habits, while also keeping individual needs in mind. I find the best way to help people change their lives is with small, simple “micro-steps". I focus on “Adding In” the good stuff in a way that is easy, natural, and fun! This approach has worked for me, and my clients.

I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition* where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories – Ayurveda, gluten-free, Paleo, raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between. But this program is about more than the food we eat, it is a lifestyle! There is no “one diet fits all”, we are each unique and it is important to honor our bio-individuality. This is a life-changing experience that is guaranteed to positively impact every area of your life.

As an Integrative Nutrition* Health Coach, I create a supportive environment that enables you to articulate and achieve your goals. Throughout my education, I have been exposed to the most cutting-edge dietary theories and studied highly effective coaching techniques to help you find the right lifestyle that works best for you.
 
Most approaches to healthy eating dwell on calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to explore basic improvements and implement gradual changes during our work together. As these pieces accumulate, my clients find these changes collectively creating a much larger impact than they originally anticipated. We work on what they want to improve within the circumstances of their unique situation.

My Approach

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.
 
I work with my clients to get in touch with their body’s needs because I understand that life happens and your needs will change. I want to equip you with the self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. I believe each person is fully capable of making well-informed decisions as their own expert, not the latest magazine article or fad diet book.
 
Let’s define what you value most from your well-being. We’ll use these visions to motivate specific goals that bring you closer to where you want to be. As your coach, I will not dictate a diet for you, but together we will explore why some foods make you feel better than others and how to strategically use that feedback. Together we’ll co-create your health goals within reasonable time frames and actionable objectives so you know exactly what you’re working toward.
 

Health Coaching

An Integrative Nutrition Health Coach is a guide and mentor who empowers you and provides ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness.
 
As your Health Coach, I will listen carefully and we’ll navigate the world of contradictory nutrition and health advice together to explore what truly works for you.
 

Together we will:

  • Connect the dots between who you are and who you want to be
  • Create your personal blueprint
  • Decipher your body’s unique needs
  • Set your personal goals and work towards sustainable change
